Terri's Technique Tuesday

I found this card in one of my current catalog's and
I fell in love with the colors and embossing.
For my technique I decided to  try a new spin on the embossing part.
I am going to call it "Raised Embossing".
I thought that explained what it was and the name is easy to remember...

Here is the card I cased (Copy And Share Everything)
and mine, of course mine is all Stampin' Up!
The background on the catalog card is embossed as well. Just not Raised.

First I Embossed my Whisper White Card Stock,
using an embossing Folder and the Big Shot.
(Yes, my Brayer is stained, let's just say it's well loved! :))

Next using my stained, but very clean brayer,
I carefully applied Versamark Ink on the raised area.

Next I dipped the inked piece into my Gold Detail Embossing Powder.
and tapped off any excess powder.

I used a soft paint brush to remove any "stray" Embossing Powder
that may have become just a little to attached to my card.

Then the magic,Using my Heat Tool I set the Embossing powder.
I love watching the powder turn from dull to a bright shine.

I add my layers and embellishments. Mine are stamped, fussy cut and layered.
Hope this inspires you to try this technique and have fun trying new things.
My Card Club is making this card Thursday Night.

Monster Mash
If there is such a thing as a cute Monster, I think these guys are it.
Inspired by the images on pg 65 in the IBC
and Perfect for any Little Guy or Gal occasion.
This set will allow you to "Make A Monster" look as scary or friendly as you want.

For my example,
  •  I stamped the bodies and faces on our wonderful Watercolor Paper using Stazon Jet Black Ink.
  • Using Our Aqua Painter, I Water Colored the monsters using assorted Classic Ink Pads.
  • Check out this method in our Idea Book and Catalog (IBC), on pg 178.
  • I attached the monsters onto tongue depressors and stuck them into a clay pot for display.
  • For an accent to bring out the Black outlines I tied Basic Black Scallop Dot Ribbon around the pot.

I am starting a weekly posting to share with you.
So I thought, a weekly Technique Tuesday Would be the best place to start.
I made these cards with my Card Club this past month. Lots of fun and great use of Stampin' Up! Product.

Negative Spritz.

  1.  I Started by Stampin leaf images from the "Gently Falling" Set and cutting them out.
  2.  Lay your leaves where you want, on a Neutral background, I used Very Vanilla. You could hold in place with Dotto, but be careful this area will show later.
  3. Prepare Your Coordinating Spritz Spray, using our great Stampin Spritzer Bottles filled with water and the Re-Inker Color of your choice. I used Early Espresso. More Re-Inker = Darker Spritz Color
  4. NOW...working from STRAIGHT above, NOT at an angle or your color could spray under the edges of your leaves. Start Spritzing, lightly. Add more as desired. I wanted a lighter background so the stamped images would stand out.
  5. I also made a second Spritzer Bottle (you get TWO! YEA!) using Shimmer Paint, Champagne Mist and water. I lightly sprayed to add some glimmer.
  6. Remove your leaves and let dry.
  7.  Stamp your leaf images in the negative space.

*little extra cutie...The Leaves for the tag are made using the
Ornament Image Punch from Merry Mini's Punch Pack
